Trinity Quilters Receive Special Grant
Pictured at right, Ruth Hanusch of the Thrivent Shawnee Chapter Board presents a “Care in Communities” grant check to Lois Gunlach. This grant will enable Trinity’s dedicated Quilters Group, who work year round making patchwork comforters for Lutheran World Relief and the MLM Christmas Store, to keep their sewing machines in good repair and to purchase the materials they use in their work. Congratulations and God’s blessings on these women and their efforts.

Trinity's Quilters meet the first and fourth Tuesdays of each month in the Parish Hall at the East Campus from 9:30 a.m. “to whenever”. This is one of Trinity's longest-running small groups. They make quilts, quilts, and more quilts, then donate them to Lutheran World Relief and the MLM Christmas Store. In 2005, they made 70 quilts for LWR and 60 for MLM.

They store their fabrics in the basement, and they're always on the lookout for more! They have lots of fun and they eat well! Below are some pictures of the Quilters at work, including a shot of one of their most valued accessories - the specially made table leg supports that raise the tables up to waist height. Saves a lot of back pain!
