Congregational
Meeting Results
At the congregational meeting on 10/5/08, the petition was passed to keep the
middle
service at the East campus a Praise worship service. Todd Brennan provided brief
opening remarks related to the events leading up to this meeting. Cheri Wright
also provided opening comments and discussed the
petition requesting this meeting. (Petition attached to the minutes in the archive).
Cheri then advanced the following motion: that Trinity Lutheran Church maintain
the Sunday morning Praise Service as the middle service at Trinity's East campus.
The motion was seconded and discussion followed. In response to requests for
clarification on what the vote meant for the middle service, Todd provided the
following clarification: Voting against the motion does not mean that the service
will be eliminated; voting for the motion means that any future proposal to eliminate
the middle service would require congregational approval.
The motion carried.
Trinity Congregational
Assembly Meeting, West Campus
June 23, 2008
(Excerpt from meeting...complete minutes available at both campuses.)
The minutes from the April 20, 2008 Congregational Assembly meeting were approved
by the Congregational Assembly.
Call Committees - Todd reviewed the history of the Outreach
Call Committee, which included extending two calls, and thanked the members
for their commitment and service over the last two and a half years. Todd will
be working with that committee to plan next steps, due to the return of Pastor
Garrett's call. The Growth Call Committee has narrowed their search down to
a short list of candidates, however, those candidates have said they are not
currently open to a call. Todd indicated that it is not likely that either
position will be filled by the end of the year.
Building
Committee – Jean
Schumaker and Ryan Hartje are working with a sub team to assess what
improvements are needed for the East campus, with the goal of having a plan
by the end of the summer. The Building Committee has been looking for land
for the West campus and
has six sites to look at. The sites will be reviewed in terms of cost and viability
for use for a church.
Capital Planning Task Force – Two firms are being considered to be hired
for managing a capital campaign.
