Health Ministry

Having a healthy body and spirit are important and Trinity offers assistance in these areas. Blood Pressure checks are available at Trinity East on the second Sunday of the month, and at Trinity West on the third Sunday of the month. CPR classes, Life Screening, and other health training and seminars are offered throughout the year.

Saturday, December 20
The December Healing Service will be included in the Blue Christmas Service at 3 p.m. You are invited to come and participate in this time of meditation and reflection, as well as comfort and hope that God brings in the midst of this season of joy.

Holiday Gathering Tips!
Remember as we gather with friends and family during the holidays, follow these tips:
1) Get plenty of rest. When you are tired and run down, you are vulnerable to illness.
2) Think twice about reaching into a community bowl filled with goodies. If someone reaches into the bowl that has a cold or the flu and has not washed their hands, you are at risk of getting the illness.

Please get your flu shot if you are able. The shot will help protect you from getting the flu and lessen the symptoms if you do get it. One of the most important and easiest ways to combat the flu is HANDWASHING!

If you are a greeter, usher or shaking a friend’s hand, follow these tips:
1) Wash your hands for at least for 12 seconds with warm water and dry them thoroughly. Do not apply lotion until hands are dry.
2) Antibacterial gels are good but have limited action against viruses.
3) If you cough, sneeze or come in contact with mucous membranes, do not touch anything until you wash your hands.

Just remember when you sneeze or cough, the droplets can travel up to 3 feet. The most important way to keep the flu from spreading is HANDWASHING!
If you have any questions, be sure to ask one of the Health Ministry Members!

Trinity’s Health Ministry needs your help! Do you have medical training and would like to use it to help others? The Blood Pressure Ministry is an easy and fulfilling way to be involved at Trinity. Blood pressure volunteers are needed to help for 20 minutes once monthly. It is a small amount of time that reaps big rewards in the way of meeting many new people and being able to serve in a valuable ministry. Help us be the hands of Jesus. Email Julie Clobes or call her at 785.542.1119 if you are interested in being a volunteer.

Healing Services
In James 5 we read, “Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.” Healing Services usually occur on the 4th Sunday of each month, 6:00 p.m. at the East Campus. An uplifting, spiritual prayer service for those needing healing in their lives is offered with the laying on of hands and anointing with oil. Join us in prayer for the sick, the ill, the hurting, those in pain, those facing surgeries and recovering from surgery, for emotional release of anguish and depression, and for whatever needs a person has for healing.
