Our
Mission: Fine Arts Academy Director: Pamela Castrey |
Trinity member Bruce Charlton currently has artwork on display in the Adult Lounge, East Campus.
Trinity's Fine Arts Academy offers instruction in visual arts, art history, piano, voice, organ, preschool music, and Suzuki violin. This currently includes ten teachers and will soon expand to include musical groups who will share their gifts in our worship services and other Trinity events. We also host drama groups that meet here on a weekly basis. Please contact Pamela Castrey if you wish to know more about our academy and other fine arts ministries. Our vision is to share our love of the arts with others and to be known as a congregation who provides artistic growth opportunities for our members and the community. This could include concerts, recital series, student recitals, church music workshops, children’s choirs, preschool music/art classes, instrumental ensembles, vocalists, art exhibitions, liturgical dance events, drama and professional touring ensembles.
Trinity’s collection of religious art is impressive. We are also blessed with members who regularly express their faith in the creation of stained class images, worship banners, architectural design, furniture building, woodworking, interior decorating, painting, quilting, floral design, and landscaping as well as our wonderful musicians who share their gifts in our worship services. Because of who we are collectively, connecting to the community through our Fine Arts Ministry is a natural avenue.

Lounge
Art Display System The art display system is in the Lounge and Heritage room. The Heritage Room holds the gorgeous stained glass window designed and constructed by Jack Neumayer and Pastor Boehnke. Both men spent hours of design time and construction time to give the Heritage Room a window that vibrantly represents our Lutheran heritage. Thank you, Pastor and Jack, for the lovely crowning touch to our room! Members of Property Management donated funds for the window materials in honor of Jack’s lifetime of work for Trinity upon his retirement from the committee. The Heritage Room has a rotating display of different historic items from the archives. Anyone interested in displaying art in the lounge that they have created or collected is encouraged to contact Pastor Boehnke and the Art Committee. They would love to hear from you and will be coordinating the art displays. The lounge can handle displays of paintings, fiber art, sculpture, and stained glass, to mention only a few media. The art does not need to have a religious theme but, will be subject to the discretion of the art committee as to content and subject matter. |
| We
are so pleased with our Yamaha C-2 model baby grand
for the East campus Worship Center. The piano is a black satin ebony 5’
8” conservatory model baby grand purchased from Schmitt Music in
Overland Park. It is the top-of-the-line Yamaha piano model of its size
preferred
over other brands by many artists. Donated non-budget music funds were used for this purchase. Our Fine Arts Academy monies also helped to fund this project. This addition will encourage the possibilities for professional recitals, concerts, guest artist workshops and, most importantly, the enhancement of our music in worship. Our music staff will make new efforts in using this instrument in all services. We are grateful to all of you who helped to make this dream a reality! Many thanks for all of your support and appreciation of our church music program and Fine Arts Academy. The music groups at Trinity are excited about this instrument and how it will expand our ministries. We are so blessed! |
